19-Year-Old Blackfoot Man Charged With Aggravated DUI After Crash Causing Serious Injury

BLACKFOOT – 19-year-old Braiden S. Wheeler, who is a resident of Blackfoot, has been charged with aggravated DUI after the accident that happened on Friday and left an individual with life-threatening injuries.

Wheeler was behind the wheel of a 1995 Ford Bronco when he lost control of the vehicle while travelling in the area of 850 West and 350 North, west of Blackfoot, due to which the vehicle overturned.

He was not alone in the car. 19-year-old Tanner Martin was riding with him and the force of the crash threw her out of the vehicle. He was rushed to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello and then to the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City for treatment.

A Facebook post uploaded by one of the relatives of Martin read, “suffered a broken neck in 2 places, broken back in 3 places, broken hand, broken wrist, and broken collarbone along with some cuts and scrapes.”

According to the hospital officials, Martin was listed in serious, but stable condition on Tuesday.

Bingham County Magistrate Court Records show he is summoned to court on 19th of October.
